Selling !!!

An article i recently read got me thinking...

What is it that education gives us.. we all strive for education, good quality education, from premier institutes of the world.. but what do we actually learn..
Hasn't our focus shifted totally, from content to the cover.. from substance to mere brands... isn't that what we are all chasing...

Marketing and hard selling seem to have become such an integral part of our life, that we don't 'develop' a liking for anything that is not 'sold' to us...
I guess "Beauty lies in substance" belongs to an old school of thought which ceases to exist in today's world...

What is worse is our justification for the need of selling.. have we all stopped trusting our sense of judgement.. the judgement of identifying what is right without someone trying to create a bias for something....

What is it that propels this thought.. i am yet to comprehend...

Charades we play

The whole world seems to be preparing for the G20 summit. From US to China, they are all harping about what Modi is planning to do, or atleast that's what our media wants us to believe.. Anyway, the best by product of hosting the G20 is the sprucing up of the city that is being done. Suddenly the MCD cleaners are sweeping all the visible scraps of plastic on the road (something they should've always done but never did), all dividers and flyovers are being painted, all signages are up and erect, all street lights are functioning... the list is endless... and it is amazing how perfect we wish to be when we have visitors, yet how shabby the original condition still is..  But the biggest realization is how nice and functional every civic amenity would be, if they all did their job properly !  So the next time you clean up your house when you have visitors, don't feel bad... that's what even countries do :) :D

An Apology

A lot of us believe that we should apologize for the wrong we've done...True.. But I've observed that a Sorry seems to be an easy shortcut... Uttering the one simple word seems to wash away the wrong-doing... We might not even pay as much attention, when we just utter the sorry...  And obviously now, thou shall be forgiven !!!
