Honestly Wilde :)
"There is a luxury in self reproach.
When we blame ourselves we feel that no one else has the right to blame us"
~ Oscar Wilde (in The Picture of Dorian Gray)
I am yet to find an author who is as blatantly honest as Oscar Wilde.
Ironically, it is these pieces of truth in his writing that appear to us as satire/wit.
I've always wanted to read Oscar Wilde, but never got the time. Which of his works could you recommend I start with.
ReplyDeleteAll the pieces are really good.
ReplyDeleteIf you like plays, then start with Importance of Being Earnest..
you can start with The Picture of Dorian Gray if you want to start off with a novel..
Lot of light short stories also available :)
