Leap of Faith

It seems to be easiest to make decisions/judgements based on faith for a 3rd person...
slightly easy to make for oneself...
but when it comes to a loved one... somehow the faith in the bigger power reduces... 
Suddenly taking that leap of faith is not all that easy...

Life Death and the ones left in between

How do you tell a 9 year old that her father is no more.... As adults, most of us grapple with the thought and logic (if any) behind a dear one leaving us... and I was suddenly left wondering what to say to this 9 year old !!! For the first time in a long time, I was left speechless, not because I didn't want to say anything, but simply because I didn't know what to say.. Does it make sense if I tell you that all of a sudden, I became the child with a rubbery tongue, and the 9 year old had turned into the adult, trying to respond sensibly and sensitively. I was stumped by the questions thrown at me.  I felt so insufficient in my responses, but the child took even that in her stride. The strength of character in facing not just the reality but also fighting each dilemma in her own sweet way left me in deep thought for some time to come. Reservations

Arjun Singh seems to have finally caught the media's attention..though for all the wrong reasons. A single statement of his regarding reservation has suddenly shown the country, that anyone can stand up against injustice... students being no exception. Students all across the country are voicing their opinions , loud and clear. We claim that our society is a democracy , where the Right to Equality is a fundamental right. But isnt any kind of reservation a direct contradiction to this right ! The existing reservation itself is not appropriately alloted, then why is the government interested in increasing the percentage is a mystery to me. Besides the reservation should in proportion to the percentage of the entire population of the section. Isn't it better solution if the students who qualify for a course are provided with financial support.... instead of reserving the seats and reducing the quality of students.
